Impact of Social Media use on Mental Well Being of Secondary School Students in Arunachal Pradesh
The proposed study seeks to examine the mental well-being of secondary school students in Arunachal Pradesh in relation to their social media use. Mental well-being will be assessed through the dimensions of Engagement, Perseverance, Optimism, Connectedness, and Happiness (EPOCH), while considering variations across gender, locale (rural and urban), and type of school (government and private). The study will explore students’ patterns of social media use, including time spent online, preferred platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and Facebook, as well as the purposes and nature of their engagement. It will further investigate the relationship between social media use and mental well-being, identifying both positive and negative influences. Recognizing that adolescents’ digital experiences are shaped by their social environment, the study will also examine the roles of parents, teachers, and peers in influencing social media practices and mental well-being. The findings are expected to provide evidence for developing context-specific educational and psychosocial interventions in Arunachal Pradesh.

Development of e- resources for the school and Teacher Education curriculum
Digital resources have been proved to benefit students, teachers and teacher educators in various ways. As per the vision of NEP, 2020, learning through visualization can be achieved as these e-resources helps students in visualizing the concepts. Similarly it also assists teachers to improve the teaching methodology and provide a better learning environment for students to construct their own knowledge. The main challenge lies in the availability of these e-resources customized to the need of the teacher and student. Keeping this in mind, PM e-vidya Channel has been launched to provide free access to e-resources to every stakeholder of education system. Government of India initiated a program called SWAYAM in effort to take the best teaching learning resources to all, including the most disadvantaged. SWAYAM seeks to bridge the digital divide for students who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy. The e-content to be developed in the programme will be utilized on the SWAYAM platform. The NCERT has established studio setup at every Regional Institute of Education (RIE) in addition to the Studios available at Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET). Faculty and students can be effectively involved in utilising these facilities to develop e-resources. The participation of students will also enable them to develop skill sets which will help them in their teaching careers. These studios can also be a resource point for the states to produce e-resources. This programme is proposed to utilise the studios for producing e-resources that can be shared on PM e-vidya Channel /SWAYAM/ SWAYAM PRABHA platform which serves the need of the hour. The facility will also be utilised during various in-service training programmes organised for state personnel.

Capacity Building of KRPs on ICT in Learning-Teaching at Secondary Stage in North Eastern States
This program is proposed based on the need identified by the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Tripura. Since ICT is one of the focus areas in NEP 2020, the programme has been proposed for all the NE states. The use of new technologies in education implies new teacher roles, new pedagogies and new approaches to teacher education. The successful integration of ICT into the classroom will depend on the ability of teachers to structure the learning environment in new ways, to merge new technology with a new pedagogy, to develop socially active classrooms, encouraging co-operative interaction, collaborative learning and group work. This requires a different set of classroom management skills. The teaching skills of the future will include the ability to develop innovative ways of using technology to enhance the learning environment, and to encourage technology literacy, knowledge deepening and knowledge creation. The programme has been proposed keeping in view the recommendations of NEP 2020 to integrate ICT in Learning –Teaching processes.
