Program Description
This Programme aims to understand students perception in History and their understanding about historical thinking skills. The Procedural knowledge is where history becomes relevant to students and aligns with competency based education. These will be assessed through field survey and distribution of questionnaires to students of class-9. The availability of pioneering filed research on classroom transactions and students understanding of key concepts, pertaining to the development of historical consciousness is almost negligible in India. This study therefore, aims to understand how historical cognition unfolds amongst students in history.
